1. Executor Initiates Access Request
Step 1:
The executor submits a formal request via:
- Online Form: [DigitalWill.uk/executor-access]
- Email: executor@digitalwill.uk
- Post: Digital Will UK, 24 Greek St, Stockport, SK3 8AB
Required Documents:
- Certified copy of the death certificate.
- Executor’s government-issued ID (linked to the Will).
- Copy of the Will (highlighting executor appointment).
2. DigitalWill.uk Validates the Request
- Verification team cross-checks documents against the client’s registered Executor Name and Backup Email (if provided).
- Process Time: 3–5 business days (expedited for urgent cases).
3. New Credentials Issued
- A one-time login link and temporary password are sent to:
- The client’s pre-registered backup email (if set up).
- OR the executor’s email (if backup email is unregistered).
- Security Note:
- Credentials expire in 72 hours.
- First login forces password reset + 2FA setup.
4. Executor Accesses the Vault
- The executor logs in via [DigitalWill.uk/executor-login].
- Post-login, they must:
- Verify identity again via SMS/email OTP.
- Review the client’s instructions (stored in the vault’s “Executor Guide” folder).
- Executor only has access to vault’s “Executor Guide” folder
5. Post-Access Actions
- Folder Distribution: Follows the client’s instructions (e.g., share folders with beneficiaries).
- Account Closure: Deletion times as per subscription plan
